Since October 7th, the Jewish Federation of New York has stepped into the void left by the government and invested huge sums in supporting and assisting hundreds of thousands of Israelis. Now, after the approval of another grant package worth tens of millions for residents of the north, the organization’s director in Israel, Itzik Shmuli, talks about the intensive activity of the organization. He emphasizes the strength of the connection with the USA and warns about the severe lack of government functioning: “In some areas in the north, to this day, the government simply does not exist.”
